(Photo: KB Financial Group)KB Financial Group said Thursday it showcased a humanoid robot-based senior care platform at "AI EXPO KOREA 2026," a three-day artificial intelligence exhibition held at COEX in Seoul from May 6 to May 8.
The financial group introduced "GenP," a humanoid robot jointly developed with generative AI company GenON, as part of its physical AI caregiving service initiative focused on senior care applications. The robot includes enhanced finger-module functions designed to support more precise movements.During live demonstrations at the exhibition, GenP performed a five-stage caregiving scenario that included greeting visitors, recognizing surrounding environments, providing daily information such as rehabilitation schedules, weather updates and physical condition guidance, responding naturally to seniors' emotional and physical states, recognizing medication schedules and physically identifying, picking up and delivering medicine, as well as assisting with rehabilitation exercises and standing support.
Following the demonstration, KB Financial said it plans to pursue a four-stage roadmap for physical AI development. The roadmap will expand from digital care services centered on emotional and cognitive support to non-contact physical assistance such as object delivery and environmental control, followed by partial physical-contact support including walking assistance, and eventually high-level full-body caregiving services.
KB Financial said it intends to focus on realizing the future of age-tech under the philosophy that caregiving, healthcare, housing and financial services should form a connected journey throughout senior customers' lives.View other newsCopyright © The Elec Inc. How this page is built
Goose Pod turns cited reporting into a public episode summary first, then pairs that summary with audio playback so listeners can check the source material before they decide how deeply to engage.
The goal is to make this page useful as a news landing page first, while still giving listeners transcript access, related episodes, and direct links back to the original publishers.
